The Ultimate Spring Bucket List
Visit a Botanical Garden: Explore the beauty of spring blooms in a botanical garden.
Go on a Hike: Take a hike and enjoy the fresh spring air and budding landscapes. It’s a great way to enjoy a nice spring day.
Have a Picnic: Pack a basket with your favorite foods and enjoy a picnic in the park. Looking for ideas on what to bring? I got you!
Attend a Festival: Spring seems to be the start of festival season. Look for local spring festivals celebrating food, culture, or art.
Plant a Garden: Start a garden and watch it flourish throughout the season. Here are some gardening tips to get you started.
Go Biking: Explore nature on a bike ride through parks or along scenic trails. Remember to abide by traffic laws and watch out for pedestrians and cars.
Visit a Farmer’s Market: Enjoy fresh produce and local goods at a farmer’s market. It’s a great way to spend a few hours and support local.
Have a Spring Cleaning Day: Declutter and refresh your living space. It’s amazing how much clutter we gather without realizing it.
Try a New Outdoor Activity: Whether it’s kayaking, paddleboarding, or something else, try a new outdoor activity.
Go Stargazing: Enjoy the clear spring nights and try to spot constellations. This is great for families and for a fun and romantic date night.
Take a Road Trip: Plan a road trip to a nearby town or countryside to explore new places.
Visit a Zoo or Wildlife Park: Spend a day learning about and observing animals. There may even be new babies you can see.
Attend a Sporting Event: Cheer on a local sports team at a game or match. This can be pros, college, high school, or even your kid’s team.
Go Camping: Embrace the outdoors with a camping trip. Be sure to pack appropriately, since warm days still usually mean chilly nights.
Have a Bonfire: Gather around a bonfire with friends and family to enjoy the evening. It’s also a great excuse to have s’mores. S’mores is always on my spring bucket list.
Try Outdoor Yoga: Join a yoga class in a park or outdoor space. This is a great way to meet new people with common interests, too.
Go Birdwatching: Spring is a great time to observe migrating birds. You might be able to see babies in nests, or crossing the street, as well.
Visit a Vineyard or Brewery: Take a tour and sample local wines or beers and have some good eats. If the winery or brewery doesn’t have a kitchen, they almost always have food trucks. It’s another great way to support local.
Go Fishing: Enjoy a peaceful day by the water fishing. Fly fishing season starts in March in most places.
Have a DIY Spa Day: Treat yourself to a relaxing day with homemade spa treatments. Coffee scrubs, homemade body butters, and DIY pedicures are all easy to do for a crowd.
Take a Photography Walk: Capture the beauty of spring with a photography walk. With the quality of most camera phones these days, you don’t need a fancy camera.
Try Geocaching: Go on a treasure hunt with geocaching. It’s another fun way to meet new people, stretch your critical thinking skills, and get outside.
Volunteer Outdoors: Spend a day volunteering for a local environmental or community cause. There are generally opportunities for everything from picking up litter to planting common areas in the community.
Go Horseback Riding: Enjoy a ride through nature on horseback.
Attend an Outdoor Concert: Listen to live music in an outdoor setting. Lots of microbreweries and wineries host local or smaller touring musicians.
Visit a National Park: Explore the beauty of a national park in the springtime. Don’t have a National Park nearby? Head out to a state park.
Go Fruit Picking: Depending on your area, there’s a lot of places that have fruit and flowers already in season. Visit a local farm and pick your own fruit or flowers.
Host a BBQ: Spring weather is so volatile. Choose a day that’s going to be warm and invite friends and family over for a spring BBQ.
Take a Scenic Drive: Enjoy a leisurely drive through scenic routes. Traipsing the backroads is one of my favorite low cost ways to get out of the house.
Try a New Water Activity: Whether it’s paddleboarding, kayaking, or canoeing, try a new water activity.
Go Flower Watching: Visit a flower garden or field to see spring blooms. This can be especially impressive if you live somewhere with tulip fields or other early spring bloomers. This is always one of my spring bucket list items.
Have a Movie Night Outdoors: Set up a movie screening in your backyard or local park. You can get an inflatable screen, or just use a white sheet.
Take a Cooking Class: Learn to cook a new spring-inspired dish.
Go Rock Climbing: Challenge yourself with some outdoor rock climbing.
Try Stand-up Paddleboarding: Experience the water in a new way with stand-up paddleboarding.
Visit a Historic Site: Explore a historic site or museum like Fort Snelling in Minneapolis.
Go to a Flea Market or Garage Sale: Hunt for treasures at a flea market or garage sale. This is a great way to freshen up your living space without breaking the bank, too.
Have a DIY Craft Day: Get creative with some spring-themed DIY crafts. Need inspiration? We’ve got ya covered with some really cute ideas.
Try a New Restaurant: Explore a new restaurant and try their seasonal menu.
