Special thanks to P&G for sponsoring this discussion about unexpected guests and avoiding the oops.
These hot summer days have me dreaming about two things – cold drinks and taking a dip in the pool. Apparently, I’m not alone, because it seems like everyone I know wants to come over lately. “Oh you wanna hang out? Cool!”
“No, we just want to go swimming.”
SIGH…That’s okay too. Come on over. You see, most pools in our area are small and shallow. They generally only go to about 4 feet deep, and are the size of two hot tubs. BORING! Our pool goes to 8 feet deep, and is pretty decent sized. Because of this, it’s a lot more fun.
Also, because of this, my house seems to have a constant flow of traffic, and more chores than I seem to remember doing before. Hmmm…strange how that works. Even though my friends are great about pitching in, it just seems like there’s lots more to do.
With this constant stream of people and guests, there are more and more things that I’m using more of. Here are my five top products that I keep on hand to Avoid the Oops.
Tide Pods. It seems that I’m constantly doing laundry. Hey, those pool towels and wet swimsuits aren’t going to clean themselves. I’ve found myself buying the giant family sized package of Tide Pods. The Ultra Downy fabric conditioner makes towels super fluffy, too. Be sure to check out these great laundry tips, as well.
Febreze Air Effects. No one wants their home to smell. With a plethora of wet towels, swimsuits, and just people in general, odors can sneak up on ya. The Tide Original Scent smells like clean laundry, and isn’t overpowering at all. The Greek Seaside has a bit more of the air freshener type scent, but isn’t too heavy for hot summer days.
TP. No explanation necessary, really, and we’ve all been there. When you have to go, ya gotta go! The Charmin Mega Rolls last and last, and don’t have us changing the roll nearly as often.
Paper Towels. Where do all the paper towels go? From cleaning up spills and small messes to substitutions for plates, we’re going through a ton of these things. I really like the Bounty Basic Select a Size towels. Need just a little paper towel for a couple cookies? Done! Have a big mess? Done!
Cascade Platinum Pods. With the constant stream of traffic, there’s also an increase in the amount of dishes being done. Whether it’s everyone having a snack and a drink after swimming or some people coming ovr for lunch or dinner and swimming, the dishes are piling up. Just load the dishwasher, and pop one of the tabs in where the soap goes. Easy peasy. And for the things that aren’t dishwasher safe or won’t fit? Dawn dishwashing liquid is just what’s needed.
The best thing is that these items are all available at Walmart. That means they’re easily accessible and pocketbook friendly. Know what else? You can order them online, and they’ll be delivered right to your door. Heck yeah! It’s a really easy way to avoid the oops.
