Officially, by the calendar, it’s almost summer. Depending on where you live, it may already be summer with hot temperatures and no school. One of the things that’s always signaled the start of summer in my life was when it finally became beach weather. Growing up by the Pacific ocean, it wasn’t warm until we were in the throes of very late spring. Oh, sure, the sand was hot but that water. Hoo boy, that water would getcha with its ice cube-like feel.
