My absolute favorite time of year is when the leaves are changing color. The weather is turning cooler, kids are back in school, and the trees are glorious displays of the most amazing colors. Fiery reds and stunning oranges and luscious yellows abound.
To really celebrate the season, we’re sharing these fabulous sugar cookies that look like little tiny autumn leaves. They’re the perfect addition to your dessert bar, or load up a jar of them and give these mini fall leaf decorated sugar cookies as a gift. They’re soft and delicious, reminiscent of lofthouse cookies.
Mini Fall Leaf Decorated Copycat Lofthouse Sugar Cookies
A few things that make this copycat lofthouse sugar cookies recipe even easier:
A round tip. This will let you not only flood the icing on when decorating, but also get the detail of the cookie.
Gel food coloring – these will give you amazingly vibrant colors with very little color needed. No more weird tasting frostings.
Mini leaf cookie cutters. So you can get the super cute leaf shape. Of course!!
