Celebrating New Years on January 1st dates back to the times of Julius Caesar. Sure, you can go out and party, but that’s not always for everyone.
One great solution to that is First Night. I happen to live in one of the towns where First Night is still going strong. First Night is an arts-based event that celebrates the New Year without focusing on Alcohol. In our town, it’s held downtown with each participating venue hosting a different band or event. And they usually ring Midnight with a variety of fireworks.
While there are always tons of festivities that you can go to, you don’t always want to be out with the people that may be drunk or otherwise inebriated. You can have fun at home, too!
Ever since I was a teen, I have shopped at Lane Bryant. You see, I’ve always been curvy, plus sized, chubby, what have you. And I‘m totally ok with it!
If you’re a curvy gal, you’re already aware that your shopping options are kind of limited. You’ve got great features of your body, they’re just a little larger than what is deemed to be “normal.” Chances are, you have breasts and hips and booty.
Most stores have a large size or plus sized department, but they tend to carry really matronly items. I’m not 70 years old wanting to wear leisure wear, nor do I want something that looks like a potato sack. I want the same cute outfits and styles as the other departments, I just need it in a slightly larger size.

It’s the holiday season, and memories are flooding back like crazy. At least they are here. “Do you remember that time that the cat knocked over the tree?” Or “Oh! Remember the year you bought me a sled for Christmas? You know, the year it never snowed!?”
Febreze wants to know about your memories. Each day, between now and December 17th, they’re asking a new question for their “Febreze Memory List.” Today’s question happens to be “What is the most memorable childhood TOY Santa ever left under your tree?”

Should we start in town, and work our way around town, back towards our house in the suburbs? Or should we start closer to the house and work our way into town?
There’s only really one place in town I want to go to, The Red Poppy Boutique, so maybe we’ll hit there first. They recently moved into a much bigger space in a much better location, and I haven’t had a chance to pop in yet. Small Business Saturday seems like the perfect time to visit!
