I love Christmas lights and displays like a fat kid loves cake. Orrr, erm, like I love cake. 
Haha. Anyway, here are a few from around the 'hood.
This is a house that has nearly 300 inflatables in their yard. Um, yeah. The first time I happened upon this display, it was a Saturday or Sunday morning, and we thought that someone had had a fight and there was laundry everywhere.

It’s the holiday season, and memories are flooding back like crazy. At least they are here. “Do you remember that time that the cat knocked over the tree?” Or “Oh! Remember the year you bought me a sled for Christmas? You know, the year it never snowed!?”
Febreze wants to know about your memories. Each day, between now and December 17th, they’re asking a new question for their “Febreze Memory List.” Today’s question happens to be “What is the most memorable childhood TOY Santa ever left under your tree?”
Head on over to the Febreze Facebook page and let them know. My most memorable toy was the Barbie Camper Van I got when I was 6. There’s a whole long story that goes with it, but that’s for another blog post.

Have you been looking for a quick gift for some friends that is totally different? Everyone needs sachets for their drawers, closets, and chests. These are especially great, as they’re filled with Moth B Gone, which keeps moths away from your wool items.
These sachets are also special, because we’re going to print our own image on fabric! Yep, that’s right! No store bought fabric for us. Okay, that’s not totally true, but it’s close enough.
In the last few years, there’s been a proliferation of places to get customized printing done & stationery made. One of the most popular things to get done is either announcements or holiday cards, usually with your own photos incorporated. Paper Culture is one such company that I was totally unfamiliar with.
While you can upload your photos to their cards to make them more personal, they have tons that you don’t have to upload a photo to, as well. I’m going to admit it – I would feel weird sending out Christmas Cards that are a picture of me, since I don’t have kids! And I’m sure people that were on the receiving end might think that was a bit odd too.
You know how most people make their Black Friday plan of attack? Well, we’re doing the same thing. Except, we’re shopping Small Business Saturday instead. This year, Small Business Saturday is November 24, 2012
Should we start in town, and work our way around town, back towards our house in the suburbs? Or should we start closer to the house and work our way into town?
There’s only really one place in town I want to go to, The Red Poppy Boutique, so maybe we’ll hit there first. They recently moved into a much bigger space in a much better location, and I haven’t had a chance to pop in yet. Small Business Saturday seems like the perfect time to visit!

Isn't it kind of amazing how the sense of memory works? I was doing something with my mom over the weekend, and I asked her "Do you remember when I was 6 or 7 and…" She knew exactly what I was thinking about and all of a sudden, we were talking about that. I can't even remember what it was now.
The sights, smells, and traditions of the holidays can also trigger many of the same kinds of memories. When you can't be with the ones you love, those memories can be very depressing.
