Blogging Goals for 2013

hello2013 Blogging Goals for 2013

So another year has passed.  Can you believe that it was 14 years ago that people were freaking out about Y2K?  I was a freshman in Hugh School, which seems even more ridiculous!

Each new year ushers in change, and that’s no different at How Was Your Day?   There’s going to be some changes at How Was Your Day? in 2013.  Some are going to be awesome and exciting and amazing while others are going to be boring and technical.

I’m a goal driven person, and that’s what keeps me energized.  Here are some of my goals for 2013

Blogging Goals for 2013

More Fun Stuff.  Gee, Greta, can ya get any more vague?  Yes, I can.   For 2013, I want to focus on more fun stuff.  More recipes.  More DIY projects.  Passions.  More things that enhance our lives.  Have something you wanna see more of?  Let me know either in the comments or via email!

More personal posts.  You can go anywhere to see a guacamole recipe, right?  The original idea behind How Was Your Day? Was to share a personal post, and then ask “And how was your day?”  And you’d tell me!   That never quite worked out as I had hoped.  I’m getting serious about my fitness this year.  More posts about me, my trials and tribulations, and celebrations.  Stuff I do just for me.  Maybe even stuff you want to share.

A regular blogging schedule.  Can I tell you a secret – I have 3 Christmas projects that I meant to post in 2011.  I decided “Oh, I’ll save them for 2012.”  Ummm…I forgot to post them AGAIN! The bad thing is, I have a ton of posts like that.  The Great Haircut of Feb 2012.  A Halloween nail art DIY.  New Years Eve fashion.  And others that I just have to wait for the right season.

Re-Branding.  As you can see, we’re sort of in the middle of that!  We’re actually trying to trouble-shoot a couple of issues, so you’ll see stuff changing for the next couple of weeks.  Yay technology and progress, amirite?

Tech Stuff.  Cleaning up of backend stuff.  Boring, blog maintenance like redundant plug-ins, SEO, image sizing, duplicate draft posts, etc.  Plus, I hope to make things easier to find and the site more responsive.  Wooo!

Personal Goals

Fitness.  I’ve always been a sturdy girl, but I could run, swim, hike, whatever.  Not too long ago, I realized, I’m not as fit as I was.  As in – not at all.  No bueno.  Gotta fix that.

Live life.  Lots of people are always stating that they’re waiting for something to happen.  I admit, I am one of those sometimes.  Life is what happens while you’re waiting.  Be present in it.  This post from Nap Time is My Time really made me think about this again.

New Hobbies.  This kind of goes along with the living life thing, but I've always wanted to learn a few things.  Like silkscreening.  And how to do letterpress.  Maybe I'll learn this year!

Quit my job
.  Yep, I said it.  I would love to be able to blog and write full-time.  While my job isn’t a horrible, nightmare brain-drain, at times I dread it.

I’m sure there’s more, but that’s all I can remember right now.  Hopefully, these goals will help energize both How Was Your Day? And my every day life.  What are your goals for 2013?

  3. WOW! I am so impressed that you actually have extra posts lying around!! Many bloggers cant find things to write about and here you are ahead of the game. Perhaps full time writing IS your "thing" and I hope that you reach your goals to be doing what makes you happy and successful!

  4. OMG, I have done the same thing! I have a super fun craft that I did with my daughter that will have to wait until Spring to post. Same thing with recipes for Thanksgiving. If only there were 26 hours in the day and there was sunlight in at least 20 of them!

  5. Awesome goals! I am with you on the fitness and getting myself better.
Glad we're all in this together!

  6. Oh, I love how detailed you are with your goals – I need to take some pointers from you

  7. Good. For. You.
You're goals are great, and I hope that you're able to achieve them all!

  8. Love your goals!
