AS I showed you previously, our outdoor space is somewhat lacking. It’s one of the tradeoffs for living in the city. We just have a small patio. It’s not tiny, and the two of us can sit out there and it’s perfectly pleasant. There are also striking views of one of the thriving parts of the city.
However, I do love to be outside. One of my favorite activities to take part in outside is reading. When it’s a gorgeous day, I go out there, sit in a comfy chair, and lost get lost in a good book. I must admit – I do prefer an old fashioned paper book to an eReader, too. Add in a glass of iced tea and that can keep me quiet and content for hours.
Another thing we like to do on the patio is eat. And eat and eat and eat. We’re eating people, lol. It’s fantastic to have a cup of tea or a latte and baked goods like a croissant or a cinnamon roll outside in the morning. We also like to grill, so we do that on the patio.
Sometimes we even play games outside. We have to be careful that we don’t lose the pieces to board games to the wind. The deed to St Charles Place has yet to be found, by the way.
Perhaps, though, my all time patio activity is one that you enjoy partaking in as well. It is people watching! Fine. Others may call it spying or even being a nosy busybody, but I don’t. Why is it okay to people watch when you’re out, but not at home? I think it’s perfectly acceptable to people watch from home. It’s not like I have binoculars out or anything and I’m not spying. Not that I’m defensive about it or anything…
