One of the things I’ve learned in life is that you are either a desert person or you aren’t. That doesn’t mean that you don’t appreciate grass, leafy trees, lakes or the ocean, but that you can see that in the vast areas of what appears to be barren land, it is teeming with life. I particularly love the high-desert, with their cool breezy nights and bright sunshine filled days.
I have traveled to Sedona many times; as you approach, there is a different vibe that is palpable. It has been a sacred place for generations to the regional Indians as well as to the rest of us who have discovered its beauty. It is a place to be revered for the special qualities the area holds.

Sedona is full of teachers and spiritual guides that can help you to discover your own inner truths and feel the call of Sedona. Ilchi Lee is a world-renowned spiritual and meditation guide for thirty years, has been teaching in Sedona for more than fifteen years, and this book is a collection of stories based on his experiences along the way. Mr. Lee is a well-known lecturer all over the world, and has a great retreat in the outlying area of Sedona; many of the chapters are based on his journey to find Mago, his compound, and developing it into the meditation center it is today.
When writing book reviews, I always look to see what others have written – and one of the very curious things about Mr. Lee is that he can be somewhat polarizing. There are either very strong positive reviews, or very negative reviews – nothing in between.
I am not a ‘New Age’ spiritualist, but I accept that there is something special about the area. If you haven’t traveled to Sedona, it is an experience you won’t soon forget; if you have been there, I’m sure that it will lure you back sometime.
