People often ask “Where do you find inspiration?” Well, I have a confession to make. My inspiration comes when I’m driving. It doesn’t matter what I’m trying to work out, if it’s not coming, I hop in the car and go somewhere.
My mom is the same way. Maybe she made me like this, I’m not sure. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been driving along and have to pull over to jot my thoughts down. If someone is riding with me, they get to be the note-taker. Lucky them! Of course, I’ve spent many years being the note-taker myself.
Over the weekend, I had a road vision – that’s what I call it – of how to set my garden up this year. Off into a parking lot I went, to sketch the plans out. Seeing other sights just seems to help me dislodge the block. Perhaps it’s the slight meditational feeling of the road.
I’ve been struggling with a couple of craft projects. I think a little road trip may be in order.

I am the same way. All of my thoughts come to me when I am driving too. It might be because I am in the car 2 hours a day for my job commute…
