I’ve been looking for a new washer and dryer. My current set is old and mismatched. My washer is from the mid-80s and the dryer – oh the dryer – has gotta be from the 70s. It’s harvest gold, for cryin’ out loud!
While cruising around the internet, checking out various appliance sales sites, I came across a few sets that I love.
I really like the idea of the all-in-one washer/dryer combos, as saving that much space would be fantastic! But then again, one of the brightly colored sets would be kinda cool. Or maybe I want a set with the drawers underneath. Oh, the decisions!!
That’s probably why I’m still sticking with the mismatched old pair.

It's tough buying new appliances, that's for sure.

Love the one in the pic!
I will continue to use my mismatched washer & dryer till one of them breaks. As long as they continue to do the job I will keep using them.
we had to replace ours last spring – Tough decision but we do save money on electricy now!
careful with the front loaders they hold alot of water inside and get smelly real fast, i have to leave the door open when im not using to let it dry and that has helped with it
The all in one make me a bit nervous.
Me too, but I’m totally intrigued. Hmm….what to do, what to do!
Harvest gold? That sounds fun. I remember most of our house as a child was harvest gold until my mom redid it.
We have an LG All in one that I am in love with. It is white though
I would have liked red.
I know how you feel… My dryer burned out, so I had to get another one.I got a used one.I will get a whole new set when the washer goes out on me…
Have a good night,,,
All the choices makes it harder
I love my Maytag set, don't know what i'd do without them.
With the prices of new appliances I'd stick with what you have until they literally fall apart!
Gosh I so want a new washer and dryer the front load ones but were waiting as well till the ones we have no longer works.
I never thought about getting one of those washer and dryer all in one kind of deals. I think it's a great idea!
It's gorgeous! I love front-loaders.
i love my mytag….
I had no idea there were all-in-one washer/dryer combos!
I love the idea of the all in one washer/dryer combo! We live in a spacious 1 bedroom apartment but the washer and dryer is in the bedroom so there is not much space and an all in one would work great in that area.
They really don't make 'em like they used to – if the color is the only problem with your old appliances, search online for some demos on how to paint them fun colors – the new ones don't work as well or last as long – especially the front-loaders.
I hate that job picking out new appliances–I have been more than blessed–My son and daughter have taken it apond themselves to do it–and also having them installed–out of there pockets–
It is tough choosing with all the options available on them. It is also very good idea to get an extended warranty.

I wouldn't care what I was getting as long as it's energy star. I have to get these bills down. I've never heard of an all in one. Time to start looking online.
i do like that idea of having a 2 in 1 i think the space saving is a nice touch too =}
I hope you find a set you like, but I understand. My set from 1996 works fine and I just can't justify buying a new set no matter how pretty the new ones are or all the new features they have. Guess I'm just stuck on the idea of waste not, want not!
I like the idea of all in one…I also like the idea of having a washer and dryer…which I don't at the moment LOL
I did not know there were all-in-ones either!
For me, I really don't like and trust the all-in-one washer/dryer combo
Buying appliances is a big purchase it is a good idea to do your research and check out consumer reviews.
I have a mismatched ugly pair that is almost as old as God I think. I hate it.
Thought we were going to have to replace our washer last summer. ( The agitator wasn't agitating.) But when we went to our local appliance dealer, to shop for a new one, the owner recognized our problem and sold us a $1.25 plastic part and explained how to fix it. Needless to say, when we needed to buy a new freezer he got our business!! Love those honest local small town store owners.
That’s awesome! I love local businesses
The HE ones with the drawers at the bottom work very well and come in handy for stocking up on detergent and storing in the bottom but they are kinda big so you'd have to have enough space i guess.
i need those lol
I like the one in the pic.
I'd definitely say it's time for some new appliances. I'm impressed that you still have a washer and dryer that are that old. I've only been married for 10 years and have already been through a pair. Thanks for sharing.
